Tribal belly dance pants have gone beyond ATS and Tribal fusion, and are worn in class - and occasionally in performance - by belly dancers of all styles.
It makes sense - skirts are all very well for performing, but these days most bellydance classes involve yoga stretches and other moves that demand ease of movement.
Tribal pants are generally figure-hugging around the hips and thighs, opening to a wide flare around the ankles - a style made popular by Melodia. They will often incorporate a mini-skirt or fake hip scarf to be more flattering to the hip and thigh area.
Harem pants are also worn, but more often worn under a circle skirt or long fringe.
